Nasal & Sinus Disorders

Nasal & Sinus DisorderSouth Florida ENT Care Center One offers comprehensive treatment of Nasal and Sinus disorders. In order to facilitate treatment of your sinus problems we combine cutting edge technology and treatment within our office creating a one-stop treatment center.

We provide in office CT scanning to rapidly diagnose a potential sinus problem. Our scanner offers a more economical, faster, and lower dose radiation option for patients with sinusitis.
Over 37 million people in the U.S. suffer from sinusitis each year.  Symptoms can include facial pain/pressure, headaches, fatigue/nausea, nasal discharge, nasal obstruction/congestion, a reduced sense of smell/taste, and pain in the upper teeth.

Unfortunately, according to published studies, up to 60 percent of chronic sinusitis patients are not successfully treated with medication.

Fortunately, when medical treatment fails, South Florida ENT Care Center One physicians are leaders in the field of minimally invasive sinus treatment. We provide the full range of in office and surgical treatment of sinusitis. This includes image guided sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty. Published clinical studies have shown that sinus symptoms improved in 95 percent of patients who had Balloon Sinuplasty.

Unlike traditional sinus surgery where doctors cut away sinus bone and tissue, balloon sinuplasty opens blocked sinuses without cutting and with minimal bleeding.  Instead, a balloon catheter is inserted through the nose into the sinuses.  Then the doctor expands the balloon to enlarge the airways and restructure the sinus area.  The procedure is similar to balloon angioplasty that open blocked arteries.

Balloon sinuplasty can be performed in the office and results in rapid healing and minimal pain.  In fact, the procedure takes less than 30 minutes and most patients return to normal activity the same day.

South Florida ENT Care Center One physicians also provide more traditional sinus surgery, known as Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, for patients who are not candidates for in office or minimally invasive procedures. This is done at hospital or ambulatory surgery centers with the latest in sinus surgical instrumentation.
